Scoble Leaves Microsoft
As originally reported by Tom Foremski and Andy Plesser (and dittoed by Chris Pirillo) Robert Scoble is leaving Microsoft to join John Furrier’s PodTech. I just heard Mike Arrington confirm it with Robert, and Robert and is writing a post on it right now. Robert just interviewed me today (as I interviewed him) @ vloggercon. Robert, post that video before you leave. As he would say, heh. Rock on, man.
Whenever I give speeches about social media, I always pimp Naked Conversations as the most thorough look at what companies are doing vis-a-vis blogging, and, more importantly, I always single out Microsoft’s embrace of blogging (and lack of heavy-handed oversight) as key to their getting some second chances with developers and media. Robert has done really great work as an ambassador for Microsoft and as an ambassador for corporate use of social media. I look forward to what he might do @ PodTech.
Update: Here’s Robert’s post.
More update: Here is a podcast with Robert on PodTech, talking about the move.
