Nielsen reveals huge increase in blogs!
Nielsen just announced that the number of ‘real’ blogs has grown by 30% in the past six months. During that same time readership of blogs by active internet users has increased by 20%. RSS? What is that? Well it seems like more and more bloggers and blog readers know. More than 11% of them use RSS to organize and deliver blog content to their computers.
MSN Spaces grew by 947% attracting more than 3MM visitors in July versus 300K in January. This earned MSN the number one position in the ‘Year-to-date fastest growing blog and blog hosting sites."
Fark.com grew by 63% and was awarded second place. Blogger grew by 45% and was awarded third place.
The bad news? 66% of the people polled in the survey had never heard of RSS.
